b. NON ACCEPTANCE OF SMALL DENOMINATIONS WITHOUT VALID REASON.
c. NON ISSUE OF DRAFTS TO CUSTOMERS.
d. NON OBSERVANCE OF RBI DIRECTIVES WITH REGARDS TO INTEREST RATES ON DEPOSITS AND ADVANCES.
e. COMPLAINTS PERTAINING TO OPERATIONS IN ANY DEPOSIT ACCOUNT.
f. COMPLAINTS FROM NRIS IN RESPECT OF THEIR BANKING OPERATIONS.
g. CLAIMS IN RESPECT OF UNAUTHORISED OR FRADULENT WITHDRAWALS FROM DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS.
h. NON PAYMENT/INORDINATE DELAY IN THE PAYMENT/.COLLECTION CHEQUES.DRAFTS,BILLS ETC.
i. DELAY IN SANCTIONS/DISPOSAL OF LOAN APPLICATION.
j. COMPLAINTS FROM EXPORTEERS REGARDING DELAY IN RESPECT OF EXPORT PROCEEDS,HANDLING AND COLLECTION OF BILLS PROVIDED THE SAID COMPLAINTS PERTAIN TO THE BANKS OPERATIONS IN INDIA.
k. FAILURE TO HONOUR GUARANTEE AND LCS.
l. NON OBSERVANCE OF OTHER DIRECTIVES ISSUED BY RBI FROM TIME TO TIME.

IN EXERCISE OF THE POWERS CONFERRED BY SEC 35A OF THE BANKING REGUALTION ACT 1949 RBI BEING SATISFIED THAT IS NECESSARY IN PUBLIC INTEREST AND IN THE INTEREST OF BANKING POLICY TO PROVIDE FOR A SYSTEM  OF BANKING OMBUDSMAN ISSUED A NOTIFICATION ON 14.6.95 TO THIS EFFECT.

THE SCHEME IS APPLICABLE TO THE WHOLE OF INDIA. IT SHALL APPLY TO BUSINESS IN INDIA OF EVERY COMMERCIAL BANK, SCHEDULED PRIMARY COOPERATIVE BANK EXCLUDING RRBS.

THE BANKING OMBUDSMAN SCHEME SEEKS TO ESTABILISH A SYSTEM OF BANKING OMBUDSMAN FOR THE EXPEDITIOUS AND INEXPENSIVE RESOLUTION OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS.IT IS FOR THE REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES AGAINST DEFICIENCY IN BANKING SERVICES CONCERNING LOANS AND ADVANCES AND OTHER SPECIFIED MATTERS.
